Soup's On!

It was a very chilly week here in SE Wisconsin last week! From what I've heard, much of the U.S. had below normal temperatures with ice and snow.

Since there is nothing like a hot bowl of soup to warm you on a cold, winter evening, I thought it would be fun to look back at my most viewed soup recipes. Perhaps you might find one or two that you'd like to try!

Chicken Vegetable Soup with Caraway Gnocchi was #10 with 3,090 views.

Tomato Soup with Cheesy Polenta Garnish (think of your childhood tomato soup and grilled cheese) is #9 with 3,208 views.

Provençal Vegetable Soup, garnished with a dollop of pesto, is 8th with 3,391 page views.

In 7th spot, this Cauliflower Soup with Parmesan Croutons has received 3,608 looks.

6th place goes to Minestrone Soup with ditalini pasta.  This post has had 4,181 looks so far.

In 5th position is this very healthy Green "Love" Soup made from a delicious variety of greens and spices,  It has 4,798 page views.

In 4th place is one of my personal favorites, Spinach Pasta e Fagioli Soup.  This great recipe, given to us by friends, years ago, has had 4,894 page views.

My 3rd most viewed recipe is for the hearty Lentil Soup with Ham and Kale. with 6,633 views. I don't know about you, but I love lentil soups, especially with smoky meat like ham.  However, you could make this a great vegetarian meal and leave out the meat too.  The kale adds beautiful color and added nutrition.

My second, all time most viewed soup recipe is Wonton Soup with Noodles and Baby Bok Choy.  12,924 views!  Not only nutritious and delicious but so pretty too.  One of those soups that you eye with your eyes first but there won't be a drop left in the bowl.

And then in first place....

With a whopping 55,305 page views, my #1 viewed soup recipe is this Navy Bean Soup made with Leftover Ham.  There is nothing like a hearty ham and bean soup to warm you when the temperatures dip!

The other thing that helps us get through winter is seeing a new movie now and then.  I just wanted to give 2 thumbs up to La La Land! My husband and I just saw it last night. The music is wonderful! Thankfully, my husband is a music 'geek' and was in the orchestra pit with his string bass for many high school musicals :) The composer, Justin Hurwitz, is a native of Milwaukee and went to high school here!  Great job, Justin! We loved it.

I just sent you an email. Yes, but French Onion didn't make the top ten :) I'm making chicken soup with noodles tonight! Thank you, M xo

Love soups always!!!!

All your beautiful soups make a wonderful collage. Had to pin based on the most popular one. I have been wondering what to do with my meaty ham bone in th freezer. I knew that it would not be pea soup so this one appeals mightily. Maybe for the next storm sometime next week. Thank you!

They all look delicious and would be most welcome at this frigid time of year.

Great line up, and I'd have to admit, I'll go with the crowd and take a bowl of that Navy Bean Soup with Ham. It most certainly is soup weather, and we've been enjoying a bowl or two here in Colorado. I had never even heard of La La Land until the Golden Globes. I must go see it.

Good looking line-up Susan and after single digits last week, it's 60 here this morning so soup weather has passed for awhile. Several of these caught my attention so I'll be back to them when winter returns.

Soup is a favorite around here, too. Lovely collage of soups and fun to read the varying statistics.

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

We do too! Thank you, Gloria :)

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

I hope you enjoy it, Vee! Wish I had a meaty ham bone in the freezer :)

We had such a mild fall that I guess nature is making up for it ;) Thank you, Linda!

If you see the movie you have to rewatch Jimmy Fallon's skit at the beginning of the Golden Globes - it will make so much more sense :) Thanks, Lea Ann! The Navy Bean Soup is delicious!

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

I'd take 60's in a heartbeat ;) Thanks, Larry!

Thank you, Lorrie! We are having soup again tonight :) This time I've thrown chopped, fresh kale into a plain chicken noodle soup! Delicious!

You make me want to pull out my soup pot Susan, so many delicious varieties to keep you warm and cozy on those cold Wisconsin nights!

So many wonderful soups Susan, love them all. And each one is in a different gorgeous bowl. Interesting how the stats were on them too. Take care!

Who would guess that a navy bean soup would have over 55,000 hits…that is terrific! I think it is the soup my mother made most often. I'd be happy with a bowl of any of them even though it is warm here in Florida.

I love this post because I have been in the mood for soup for weeks! They all look so good it's hard to decide. I appreciate your review about Lala land as well!

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

Thank you, Lorraine! There's nothing like soup on a chilly evening :) Hope you get to see the movie, we really enjoyed it and were impressed with Emma and Ryan. They may not be the best singers in and dancers but it felt genuine.

I love making and eating soups and all of yours look delicious, Susan I would have a hard time picking out a favorite to make first as I want them all! You've inspired me to take out soem beans from my pantry and begin soaking them to make in a soup tomorrow. Hope the ice storm did not effect your area. We are having snow today!

I just made your lentil soup last week Susan. All of your soups sound fantastic. Think I will try the navy bean and ham soup next. Thank you!

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

Thank you, Pat! We had some very icy roads yesterday and I heard there were lots of accidents. I stayed in! Hope you like the bean soup :)

Roz | La Bella Vita Cucina said...

Oh my Susan, I wouldn't know which soup to call the best since they're all beautiful and I'm sure chock full of flavor! I'll have to try many of them!!! And how do you know / determine how many page views each of your recipes receive? I'd be interested in knowing how to find those numbers too! Stay warm now! You've got all the great recipes to help do that!

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

Thank you, Kate ;) That's how I feel when I want to make soup - which one to make?!

SavoringTime in the Kitchen said...

Thank you Roz! If you have a Blogger blog, then is on your Blogger page where you create a new post. Under 'Labels' where your posts are filed by the 'tags' you choose. If you look up Soups, for example, under Labels all your soup posts will show up and then off to the far right it shows how many 'views' each post has had. If you use Wordpress, then I can't help you :) Email me if you need more help!
