Pumpkin Pie Brioche


 
As the day draws closer to Thanksgiving, I wanted to wish all of you who celebrate the holiday a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Since most of you likely have your menu already planned, I thought I'd share a couple of recipes that I had posted in the past which may come in handy after Thanksgiving if you bought an extra can of pumpkin that didn't get used or if you purchased too many fresh cranberries.

The first (for that unused can of pumpkin puree) is Pumpkin Pie Brioche.  You can click on the link to be taken to the recipe.  This brioche makes amazing French toast and would be wonderful if you have holiday weekend guests.

The second (for the bag of cranberries you did not use) is for Cranberry Liqueur.  You can find the instructions  by clicking on the link and the update when the liqueur was ready to drink by clicking here. This takes about a month to 'ferment' and makes a delightful Christmas cocktail.  It would also be a delicious gift.

I do have a can of pumpkin puree and three bags of cranberries. Both the brioche and liqueur are beautifully tempting.

Yes, on the Pumpkin Brioche! I normally bake honey rolls every TG, and I'll probably do the same again, this year. But no one ever said I couldn't have variety at my table, right?

Oh I'm still so full from two Thanksgivings back to back that I don't know why I enjoyed this post so much. Perhaps it is because I'm feeling a little guilty about just chucking the pumpkins when I could bake them off and freeze them and make pumpkin brioche or something. The cranberry liqueur looks beautiful and sounds delicious.

I am going to have to try cranberry liqueur again. Years ago Martha Stewart had the recipe on one of her Thanksgiving specials. I made it, let it age in a lovely bottle, went to retrieve it the day before Thanksgiving, wherein I knocked it over, spilling it inside my cabinets. Sticky!

Sounds like wonderful Thanksgiving treats. I have Brioche on my bucket list for cooking and definitely a touch of pumpkin would make it special. We have a favorite restaurant that makes their french toast with Brioche and ever since we had it there, I have wanted to try making my own. Hope you have a wonderful week.
