Easy Chocolatey Bundt Cake

Do you need a quick and easy dessert to wow your honey tonight?  All you need is a boxed cake mix and a few other supplies and you can go home and whip this up in about an hour or so.

You don't even need to make frosting - just dust with powdered sugar to your sweetheart's content.

It's moist, delicious, and above all - chocolatey!

Happy Valentine's Day to You All, My Dears!  ♥♥♥

I'll be taking a short break for a week or so.  Don't worry if you don't see me around for a little while :-)

Easy Chocolatey Bundt Cake

Printable Recipe

Servings: 12

The creator won first place at the county fair with this recipe.

1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup sour cream
1 cup vegetable oil (I used less - 2/3 cup)
4 eggs
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (I used half bittersweet chocolate and half white chocolate chips)
Powered sugar for dusting
Berries or whipped cream for serving, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large bowl, mix together the cake and pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, beaten eggs and water. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour batter into a well greased 12 cup bundt pan or tube pan.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until top is springy to the touch and a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake thoroughly in pan at least an hour and a half before inverting onto a plate

If desired, dust the cake with powdered sugar.

  2. That's a lovely pattern in your bundt pan...I do love a cake mix doctor kind of cake. For tonight's dinner, I made a wafer cake. Hope that it works out, but we had to have some chocolate.

Enjoy your time away and I'll look for you on your return.

  28. I never use mixes anymore, due to so many allergies and health issues - as well as my food philosophy, Susan - but I know this is a great cake. I recall a very similar recipe in the 70's and adding the pudding to the mix just made the world a better place at the time.
