Dishing up something a little different today ;)
I was inspired by a photograph that I had seen in an art gallery during an art gallery walk Friday night. It was a photograph of several small flowers nestled in spoon. So simple and beautiful. I thought I would try replicating it at home today. After our record-breaking torrential rains and flooding in Milwaukee, that you probably heard about on the news, today was sunny and dry with low humidity...a welcomed relief for so many who lost so much in the flooding.
Clockwise from the upper left...dianthus, phlox 'David', geranium 'Roxanne', hydrangea 'Endless Summer', double impatiens, phlox, Franz Schubert, astrantia 'major, phlox 'David, and astrantia again in the center.
My favorite spoon 'candy' was first photo of the astrantia. The flowers look beautiful right-side up or upside-down! I'm sharing my Spoon Flower mosaic for Mosaic Monday at Little Red House. You'll find lots of fun there - please take a peak.
beautiful sorry to hear about the rain oh and did you like the oil and vinegar I never heard

ReplyDeleteGlad you got rid of the humidity! Heard about your crazy weather. I think we got some of your rain today!
This is the most beautiful art. I would buy that first picture for myself! Fabulous and delicate detail and the spoon's silver adds a deep rich quality.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!

lovely mosaic. I am hosting a CSN Giveaway and would love for you to stop by.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I can see why you were inspired by the spoon art! Very unique.
ReplyDeletePerfectly beautiful, Susan.
ReplyDeleteI am willing to bet that your spoon art turned out better than you saw on the art walk! That first photo is breathtaking, I didn't recognize the blossom at all and it looks like the little stamens have pearls on the end. You picked the perfect spoon and the perfect blossoms. I really enjoyed this post.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful!! Award winning, I am sure. I did hear about the rain and flooding in Milwaukee. Hopefully the rest of your summer will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! You should frame it.
ReplyDeleteHope you are drying out!
Thank you for visiting me! Bob loved the dark chocolate chip cookie with the regular chips. That's the recipe I will be posting later. I did a sampling of butterscotch and kettle chips as well. I thought Bob would like the dark chocolate/kettle chip one.
ReplyDeletePerfect photos... what a divine idea! The silver becomes a soft frame for the flowers. You really should make this into something, they are so great!
ReplyDeleteLovely and unusual, Yes, I did hear about your torrential rains. Were you ready to construct an ark? There was quite a bit of rain and flooding in Chicago. Several freeways were closed for awhile and those living along the Chicago River were inundated. One luxury condo had the underground parking flooded. Of course, that was where all the "working parts" of the building were located as well. Hope you are drying out.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
What an inspiring photo! Makes you really stop to gaze at the flower.
