A Destination Wedding~

A little beach to cool the feet and thrill the eyes,

some biking for exercise,

a little golf with a gorgeous view for sport,

on one hole an alligator basking in the sun! Yikes!

Live Oaks and Spanish Moss to lend a romantic air,

...and a charming Southern-venue wedding was a beautiful affair.

All made for a perfect destination wedding that we attended in Hilton Head Island this past weekend for the daughter of very good friends who are in our gourmet group. The wedding ceremony was held here. What a romantic and historic place! It would make a wonderful anniversary get-away also. Can you see the Gospel Choir in the background? Their voices in the chapel were thrilling! The wedding ceremony was held in Palmetto Bluff which was a 40 minute drive from Palmetto Dunes, where most of the wedding guests stayed and where the reception was held.

Friday night, at the rehearsal/welcome dinner, we were served a South Carolina 'Low Country Boil' among many other good things to eat. At the wedding, there were oysters to shuck along with passed appetizers and the wedding cake was made with Key Limes. All the Southern touches were perfect and made for a very memorable event.

What a fun time this must have been. I love the photos, look right they are right out of a movie scene! Who spotted the gator first?

What a fabulous place for a wedding. I ♥ Spanish moss draped trees. Low country boil, you can't get much better than that!

What a gorgeous place, and definitely sounds like a fun and relaxing few days. ... I love the tall windows in the chapel ... a beautiful place for a storybook-sounding wedding. The Spanish moss on the trees are so eerie yet beautiful.
